KSP investigating after pedestrian killed in Cave City

CAVE CITY, Ky. – Authorities say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in Barren County.
The Kentucky State Police says the Cave City Police Department requested it to investigate a fatal collision around 1 a.m. Sunday
According to authorities, an investigation revealed a 2005 Mitsubishi SUV was traveling southbound on South Dixie Highway. A pedestrian, identified as Paul Fields, 63, of Glasgow, was in the travel section of the road at this time, authorities say.
KSP says the driver tried to avoid hitting Fields but was unable to do so.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
This remains an active investigation.
