Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement cracking down on aggressive drivers
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division announced the start of a three-week statewide enforcement targeting aggressive driving behaviors.
The “Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks Campaign” targets drivers who exhibit dangerous driving behaviors.
These include improper lane changes, following too closely, not leaving enough space to pass and speeding.
Driving aggressively is dangerous and can cause road rage incidents, wrecks and even fatalities especially on highways with large trucks.
KSP recommends leaving space between yourself and large trucks. If you can’t see the truck driver’s mirrors, then the truck driver can’t see you.
According to Kentucky State Trooper Daniel Priddy, giving yourself plenty of travel time is a great way to lower your driving stress levels and aggression.
In 2019, there were 6,147 crashes involving commercial trucks on Kentucky roadways resulting in 88 deaths.
