Jackson’s Orchard gears up for annual Apple Festival
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As summer comes to a close, so does peach season at Jackson’s Orchard in Bowling Green.
Now it’s time for their favorite event of the year – Apple Fest.
Every Labor Day weekend, the orchard hosts the annual festival, and this year is no different.
Visitors will have the chance to choose from 18 different varieties of freshly grown apples.
Jackson’s popular apple cider, cider slushes, fried pies and several other treats will be available as well.
Preparation for the festival begins in spring, but workers have vamped up efforts in recent weeks to get ready for the large crowds they’re expecting this holiday weekend.
Visitors can try free samples of apple butters, sauces and salsas, and they’ll have the opportunity to pick their own apples right off the trees.
Apple Fest begins Saturday, Aug. 31 at 8 a.m. and runs through Monday, Sept. 2.
