‘It was a good week:’ Leslie County man scores $15,000 ‘Soccer Fortune’ win

LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. – A Leslie County man is celebrating after an ordinary Wednesday turned into a $15,000 win.

According to lottery officials, Darrell Miller of Hyden spent just $3 to spin on the Kentucky Lottery’s Soccer Fortune Instant Play game.

The Kentucky Lottery says that just a few days prior, Miller snagged a $600 win on Soccer Fortune. Feeling lucky, he gave it another go.

“I spent $3 on a spin and on the third spin I won 15 grand,” Miller said. “It’s more money than I woke up with that day, that’s for sure.”

After claiming the prize, Miller walked away with $10,875 after taxes, a check he says he’s planning to simply save for now.

He shared the good news with his boss. “Everybody at work knew and was excited for me,” Miller said. “It was a good week.”

Soccer Fortune is one of the Kentucky Lottery’s Instant Play games. The online game offers a top prize of $600,000.
