Indoor mask wearing recommended for some to combat variant

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky’s governor is urging frontline workers dealing with the public to wear masks, even if they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The governor offered several recommendations Monday to protect Kentuckians from the more infectious delta variant. He says it’s a serious threat and a deadly one for unvaccinated Kentuckians. The governor continued urging unvaccinated Kentuckians to get the shots. Large swaths of Kentuckian continue to show lagging vaccination rates. The governor also recommended mask wearing among Kentuckians at a higher risk due to pre-existing health conditions, even if they are vaccinated.
