Indian Hills Country Club to host clinic on changes to golf rules
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The United States Golf Association has made several changes to the rule book, which includes decreasing the total amount of rules from 35 to 24.
One local country club is doing its part to educate players on these new changes.
On Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Indian Hills Country Club Golf Pro John Mullendore will be hosting a rules clinic inside the club’s ballroom.
The session is free and open to club members and the entire public, with any and all ages welcome to attend the informational event.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees can test their knowledge of the rules by taking an optional test on them.
Mullendore says as a golf pro, he feels an obligation to keep players up-to-date about everything going on with the game of golf.
“I think it will help clarify a lot of things,” said Mullendore. “A lot of our members and our guests watch golf on TV like all of us. They hear some of the new stuff going on, and a lot of them are getting confused on certain procedures like out of bounds.”
Mullendore added that an event like this also serves as a great way to showcase the club to people who would potentially be interested in becoming members.
