WIMBLEDON 2021: Djokovic, Murray, Kvitova-Stephens on Day 1
WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Novak Djokovic will get his bid for a third major title of 2021 started at Centre Court by facing wild-card entry Jack Draper as Wimbledon begins. The tournament was canceled last year because of the pandemic. Djokovic is seeking a third consecutive championship at Wimbledon and sixth overall. He also is trying to raise his Grand Slam trophy total to 20 to tie the men’s record shared by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Other Grand Slam champions scheduled to play on Monday include Petra Kvitova and Sloane Stephens, who face each other, along with Andy Murray, Venus Williams, Garbiñe Muguruza, Iga Swiatek and Sofia Kenin.
