Saso goes for another LPGA major with limited expectations

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) — Yuka Saso won the U.S. Women’s Open. Now she gets a shot at another major in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club. The 20-year-old Filipino still has a lot to learn and she’s keeping moderate expectations. She didn’t know the Women’s Open title came with a five-year exemption on the LPGA Tour. She is so new to the LPGA that she had never played in a pro-am until this week. But she’s an example of the increasing depth in women’s golf. The last 19 majors have been won by 18 players.
