Kyrgios ‘not bad for a part-time player’ in Wimbledon win

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Nick Kyrgios is back on the tennis scene and back to winning at Wimbledon. The unseeded Australian played on tour for the first time since February and knocked out the tournament’s No. 21 seed in five sets. Kyrgios showed off his usual mix of great shot-making and odd shot choices. He also hit 23 aces and won more of the first-round match’s longest baseline exchanges. Other winners on Day 3 included Novak Djokovic and Garbiñe Muguruza, while Grand Slam champions Sofia Kenin and Venus Williams lost. The rain stayed away from the All England Club for the first time this week so the first round finally got finished.
