Listen up: Roberto Mancini is Italy’s standout at Euro 2020

ROME (AP) — Roberto Mancini has turned Italy around after the Azzurri failed to qualify for the last World Cup. The players are carrying out his attacking philosophy to near-perfection at the European Championship. That was on display when Italy dazzled in the second half in a 3-0 win over Turkey in the Euro 2020 opener. The victory extended the Azzurri’s unbeaten streak to 28 matches. That’s two shy of the team record set under Vittorio Pozzo nearly a century ago. It also marked the first time in Italy’s history at the tournament that it scored three goals. Up next for the Azzurri in Group A is Switzerland on Wednesday.
