Heavy snows could be headed to Memphis, surrounding areas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A winter storm is expected to hit Tennessee and parts of other states on Sunday, bringing a possibility of several inches of snow. The National Weather Service in Memphis says the storm is expected to hit eastern Arkansas, western Tennessee and northern Mississippi on Sunday and Monday. Forecasters said one to six inches of snow are possible in and around Memphis. Slick conditions persisted in Tennessee on Saturday morning, as a multiple-car crash involving more than 20 vehicles on a Nashville highway caused some injuries. The Nashville Fire Department said it transported 12 people to hospitals, though most were for minor injuries.
