JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) — Maria Fassi thought she had a birdie on the 18th hole in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. By the time she reached the next tee, it was a bogey. Fassi was docked two shots for slow play on the 18th green at Atlanta Athletic Club. That penalty wound up causing her to miss the cut. The rules official said she took 50 seconds for her second shot over the water on the par 5. That’s 20 seconds over the limit. Fassi was frustrated and furious. She says common sense should be applied with a clock. The former NCAA champ shot 77.
