Nelly Korda ties Women’s PGA record with 63 to take the lead

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) — Nelly Korda could see there were low scores at Atlanta Athletic Club. It just took her a while to find them. And once she did, Korda didn’t stop making birdies until she had a 9-under 63 and a one-shot lead in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The 22-year-old American finished with six in a row and 10 on the day. She leads by one shot over Lizette Salas, who had another bogey-free 67. Korda is the fifth player to shoot 63 in this championship. She’s also the third player to shoot 63 at Atlanta Athletic Club in a major championship.
