Beshear stresses convenience of getting COVID-19 vaccine

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky’s governor says getting a COVID-19 shot can be as easy as walking into some vaccination sites without an appointment. It’s the latest plea from Gov. Andy Beshear to boost vaccination rates in the state. Beshear said Tuesday that more than 1.8 million Kentuckians have received at least one dose of vaccine. But he says the pace needs to pick up, especially among younger people. Beshear says there are vaccination appointments available every week, at many times during the day. At some sites, he says people don’t need an appointment. Younger Kentuckians have lagged behind in getting vaccinated.
