Human remains located in Boyle County amid missing person investigation

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. – Human remains have been located in Boyle County amid a missing person investigation, authorities say.
According to a social media post by the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, the remains were located on a property previously identified as a possible site connected to the disappearance of Anna Manning, who was reported missing on February 25, 1994.
Authorities say the discovery is the result of an ongoing investigation and in coordination with partnering agencies.
At this time, the sheriff’s office say the remains have been secured and will be transported to a certified forensic laboratory for examination and positive identification.
Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation and out of respect for the family, authorities say no confirmation regarding the identity of the remains will be made until forensic analysis is complete, and next of kin have been notified.
The investigation remains active.
