House on the Hill hosts Fountain Square Arts Festival, showcases local artists
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A little rain couldn’t put a damper on a nonprofit’s new event showcasing local artists.
House on the Hill, a non-profit that supports individuals and families with affordable housing and food programs, hosted its inaugural Fountain Square Arts Festival at La Gala on Saturday.
The event, originally scheduled at the park, was moved to the indoor venue due to weather conditions.
Dozens of local artists showcased their artwork, which was available for purchase.
Executive Director Joel Hawkins says funds from the event support critical community programs
“Events like this or twofold, they bring attention to what we do, which is food and housing for low-income families and individuals. And then they also help us raise funds for the work that we do and provide food through our grocery program, our food box program, our grocery truck program, and then our guest house program, which is transitional housing,” says Hawkins.
Hawkins added that House on the Hill is thankful to the artists and creators for their participation and support for the community.
