HART COUNTY, Ky. – Units responded to a reported structure fire in Hart County on Wednesday.

According to a social media post by the Horse Cave Fire Department, firefighters were alerted for a possible structure fire on West Main Street.

Units were told a Horse Cave Police Department officer had seen smoke while patrolling and was evacuating the home.

Munfordville and Cave City fire units were requested for mutual aid. Upon arrival, crews say smoke was showing from the attic vents.

Firefighters say they entered the structure and located a fire in the attic over the kitchen. Due to the construction of the home, firefighters say they gained access through a hole in the roof to extinguish the fire.

The fire was brought under control with minor damage and no injuries, according to the department.
