Home destroyed by fire in Cave City

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A home is heavily damaged after a fire Thursday in Cave City.

According to the Cave City Fire Department, units responded at 11:14 a.m. Central Standard Time to a structure fire at 780 Old Mammoth Cave Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters say they began working to contain the blaze and protect nearby property.

The department says mutual aid was provided by the Park City Fire Department, Horse Cave Fire Department, Glasgow Fire Department and Hiseville Fire Department.

First responders say no one was inside of the home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported, according to the department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
