Holiday trolley visits Fountain Square Park
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Downtown Bowling Green officially kicked off the holiday season Friday with Downtown Lights Up.
New to the Fountain Square Christmas events was a holiday trolley. It was a free, unique way for families to explore the holiday tradition on the square that also pays tribute to Bowling Green history.
Community engagement coordinator Emily Angel said, “The trolley is not new to Bowling Green. Back in the early 1900s, there used to be trolleys that actually traveled downtown around Fountain Square Park. So, it’s unique to have that back here even if it’s just one night a year for Downtown Lights Up. We love having that history.”
Though the trolley was a one day event, the holiday lights will stay up in Fountain Square Park for everyone to enjoy through the holiday season.
