Historical Capitol Theater holds re-opening ribbon cutting
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An historic icon in downtown Bowling Green is hosting a re-opening ribbon cutting to help raise donations for the upkeep of the building.
The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center is announced plans for “A Capitol Celebration” to be held on Saturday.
Covella H. Biggers, who was instrumental in the early 80s renovations and re-opening of the Capitol Arts Center, will attend as an honorary chairwoman for the event.
The ribbon cutting is an opportunity for the community to pay tribute to the past and celebrate the future of the downtown landmark.
After the ribbon cutting, the community can see a preview of events planned for the Capitol Arts Center through the end of 2019 as well as a free public screening of the 1993 cult classic Wayne’s World 2.
SKyPAC is calling this a new era for the Capitol Arts Center.
