Help local fish environments by donating your dead Christmas tree
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Christmas is over and you may be taking down your decorations soon. If you have a real tree, why not dispose of it and help the environment at the same time?
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officers are collecting cut trees at their location at 970 Bennett Lane, right off of Nashville Road.
All you have to do is remove all ribbons, lights, ornaments and garland from the tree and toss the tree out into the pile on the side of the road in front of their building.
They will then take those trees and place them in local lakes, creating areas for fish to hide and repopulate as well as creating great fishing spots.
The last day to drop of your tree is Jan. 15.
