Greenwood’s Anna Drexel Breaks 24-year 400m Dash Record

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Over the weekend, Greenwood High School Track and Field had a record broken.

Anna Drexel is now the new school record holder in the 400-meter dash.

Drexel ran a 58.35 at the Heart of the Bluegrass breaking a 24-year record in Gators history.

This is currently the fastest 400-meter dash in the state.

Today at Greenwood High School, a ceremony was thrown to honor Anna’s historic run.

“My goal was to go break the record this weekend. I was definitely emotional because my time last year wasn’t nearly this good and I’ve just been working so hard over the winter and just training to try to, you know, break this record,” Drexel said when asked about her achievement.
