BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man was arrested Wednesday morning in Bowling Green after he allegedly molested two children in Grayson County.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Jared Joyce, of Leitchfield, was arrested by the Bowling Green Police Department on a complaint warrant by the Leitchfield Police Department on May 4.
The arrest happened on East 16th Avenue.
During the investigation, two juveniles told LPD detectives that Joyce forced them into sexual acts and taught one of the juveniles how to make a “sex toy” out of rubber gloves.
Detectives say that when Joyce was interviewed, he denied the allegations.
When questioned about the “sex toy,” Joyce told detectives that inmates at the Grayson County Detention Center taught him how to make them when he worked there, according to the complaint warrant.
Joyce has not worked at the detention center for several years, according to K105 Radio in Grayson County.
Detectives say Joyce’s method of making the “sex toy” matched the juvenile’s account.
According to the complaint warrant, Joyce asked detectives what he should do and if he should expect to be arrested.
LPD was informed on May 1 that Joyce had gone missing and later received information that Joyce said, “he was not coming home and would not tell anyone where he was.”
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office filed a missing person report.
The complaint warrant states that Joyce was located on FLOCK cameras traveling in Alabama, Florida and Tennessee within 48 hours.
On May 4, Sheriff Norm Chaffins informed LPD that a friend of Joyce contacted him and stated that Joyce called him from a private number, saying he was three hours from his house.
Joyce is currently lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
According to the complaint warrant, Joyce is charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy.
