Governor speaks at WKU basketball game

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The governor made a stop at the WKU Men’s Basketball game against the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday and addressed the crowd in regard to the tornado relief efforts.

The WKU Hilltoppers secured the win against the Cards during the home game, a feat proving remarkable on its own.

Before the game began, just after announcing the teams, Beshear was invited onto the court alongside several local officials to address the crowd.

In his speech he called Kentuckians “good people” and encouraged the crowd saying we are going to make it through this.

“It’s been one week today since the most devastating tornadoes we’ve ever seen tour through our Commonwealth they’ve taken at least 75 lives children of God irreplaceable in their communities and while we are hurting while we’ve been knocked down we are not broken we will not break,” said Beshear.

Beshear made his way to Dawson Springs then Sunday alongside Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and Kentucky Head Coach John Calapari.
