Glasgow Police Department safety checkpoints start June 5
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints starting June 5.
These checkpoints will include but not be limited to popular city streets like Columbia Avenue, Happy Valley Road or West Main Street.
During the traffic stops, officers will be enforcing laws related to motor vehicle equipment, seat belt and child restraint, operating a vehicle under the influence and many other violations to ensure everyone’s safety on the roadways.
Major Terry Flatt with the Glasgow Police Department says, “Throughout the summer, you know, obviously we’ve got the Fourth of July weekend coming up. We just finished up with Memorial Day, and we started, you know, into that holiday season and the summertime travel, and we just, you know, we asked the public for help. Give us a call or, you know, if they’re not in our community, call the local 911 center.”
Flatt also says the safety checkpoints are a valuable tool used to promote the safety and well-being of others.
