GLASGOW, Ky. (Glasgow News 1) – Plans for a full renovation of Glasgow’s existing theater appear to be moving forward, according to local businessman Larry Glass.
That’s according to a report by Glasgow News 1.
According to the report, Glass stated that “construction pricing has been completed by Kyle Boston and the team at Alliance Corporation in Glasgow, and Crowne Pointe Theatre owner Rick Roman has officially signed off on the renovation plans.”
As opposed to constructing a new complex, Glasgow News 1 says Glass stated the goal is a “complete modernization” of the current building.
Under this proposal, the parking lot would entirely be reconstructed, along with all electrical systems being replaced and a new HVAC system being installed, according to Glasgow News 1.
In addition, the report states all seating in the theater would be switched out for new reclining seats, with the new facility offering seven cinema rooms.
Glasgow News 1 says the concept also features a new game room and a party room for events.
According to the report, other upgrades would include new theater equipment, a redesigned lobby with self-service concessions and the option for customers to reserve tickets using a mobile app.
The carpet and flooring would also be switched out, along with repainted walls, a new roof and new exterior digital boards for advertising, Glasgow News 1 states.
According to Glasgow News 1, Glass stated ownership of the project would include “the owners of Crowne Pointe Theatre,” with Crowne Pointe serving as the management partner.
Glass reportedly stated all existing employees are expected “to remain part of the operation under the new plan.”
According to Glass, an official offer was made to buy the current Marquee Cinema property located near the intersection of Veterans Outer Loop and Happy Valley Road on the north side of Glasgow. They are awaiting a response from the current owner, according to the report.
According to Glasgow News 1, Glass said the project is expected to move forward if the remaining pieces fall into place over the next 30 days.
