Get excited for free trees and BikeWalkBG
City of BG's Arbor Day Celebration at
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Arbor Day is coming up April 9th, and The City of Bowling is working hard to make it a day to remember.
The City of Bowling Green’s Arbor Day celebration at Kereiakes Park has a number of exciting things coming up.
A lot of people lost trees during the tornadoes, so the city is handing out Norway spruce, sugar maple and dogwood trees.
The city arborist will be there to teach about how you can plant your trees correctly, what kind of sunlight they need and any other questions you may have.
City of Bowling Green public information officer Deborah Highland West said, “Bowling Green is recognized as a Tree City USA. That means we really care about trees here. It adds value to our community, it keeps our water clean and it’s good for the environment.”
Also, BikeWalkBG will kick off its mobile bike program at the celebration.
Bring your bicycles for free repairs. The city will also bring bikes for you to borrow for a community bike ride along the trails.
The celebration takes place April 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
