Furniture donations reach Kentucky tornado victims

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today, trucks filled with hundreds of pieces of furniture for tornado survivors began arriving in Kentucky.

The trucks were delivered by the National Baptist Convention of America out of Louisville and unloaded today in Bowling Green.

The trailers were filled with living room, dining room, bedroom and patio furniture, all from an anonymous donor.

Each family affected by the December tornadoes could get enough furniture for two rooms.

“And we try to serve the families that were hit the hardest, that lost completely everything first, give them first shot at the items. And the good thing about our donor is they have already committed. If we need additional furniture later, they’re willing to donate even more.”

A total of eight trucks carrying furniture were donated to tornado ravaged towns in Kentucky, including two for the city of Bowling Green and three trucks each for Mayfield and Dawson Springs.
