Fundraiser announced to benefit jailer’s deputy with cancer

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Regional Jail is announcing a fundraiser after one of their employees was diagnosed with cancer.

Deputy Jerod Borden was diagnosed with stage 2C colon cancer and will be going through six months of chemotherapy to treat it.

This diagnosis comes after Borden just recently recovered from a major surgery.

Borden has worked for the jail for 11 years, according to Warren County Jailer Stephen Harmon.

“Jared’s attitude is super positive. The fight is very strong in him and we have no doubt that he’s going to meet us there on the other side of this and that he will come back to work. He is a great community servant, and we are looking forward to this benefit that can help him in his time of need. He’s always been one to help others when they needed help and, unfortunately, at this point, Jared’s on the receiving end of this,”

The fundraiser will be held at the SOKY Marketplace on October 15 from 11-2 and will feature $5 box meals.

Funds collected during this event will be matched up to $2,500.00 by Modern Woodman Financial.
