Franklin man arrested after reported theft of 1940s vehicle

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Simpson County man is behind bars after a reported theft involving a 1940s car.

According to a uniform citation, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department says on Friday, 28-year-old Michael Herrington was found to be in possession of a stolen green 1940 Ford coupe.

Authorities say the vehicle was stolen from a residence in the local area on or around March 2.

Deputies say Herrington disposed of the keys to the vehicle he was holding during his arrest.

Herrington was transported to the Simpson County Jail. He remains on charges of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more and tampering with physical evidence.
