Former Barren Co. Middle School teacher pleads guilty to felony charges involving minor

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The former Barren County Middle School teacher arrested in 2019 and again in 2020 for sex crimes with a then 13-year-old student has pleaded guilty to the charges.

According to court documents, William Kyle Gardner, 30, was originally charged and pleaded not guilty in 2020 to first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor under the age age of 16, unlawful use of electronic devices as a means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities and tampering with a witness.

However, in court on Sept. 6, Gardner entered a plea of guilty to those felony charges, stated the documents.

The charges carry a maximum sentence of 17 years in prison.
