Ford investing $2 billion in Hardin County, over 2,000 new jobs

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky’s Governor provided an update on the former BlueOval SK facility in Hardin County on Thursday.
According to a Team Kentucky Update, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that the commonwealth and Ford have agreed to new terms for the development in the Glendale-based facility.
Ford will invest $2 billion in the facility and create 2,100 new jobs for manufacturing energy storage systems, according to Gov. Beshear.
The facility began production of electric vehicle batteries in August 2025.
In December 2025, Ford ended its partnership with BlueOval SK after federal EV policies changed.
Gov. Beshear released the following statement:
“This is great news for Ford, great news for Hardin County and great news for all of Kentucky. Ford has been a great employer and corporate partner in our state for more than a century, and our winning partnership will continue well into the future.”
