Food trucks rally around to help Cabrera’s after tornado destruction

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- On Friday, multiple food trucks rallied together to support Cabrera’s Mexican Restaurant, which was devastated by the December 11th tornadoes.

Cabrera’s building was completely destroyed in the storm and they have been closed for business since.

From 11am – 2pm, Los Altos, South Cow, and Pirogue’s Cajun Food Truck set up outside of Cabrera’s on Russellville road.

Cinco De Mayo Smiths Grove Food Truck was also at Greenwood Surgical Center to help raise money for the cause.

A portion of all four of the food truck’s sales went towards helping Cabrera’s rebuild. Pirogue’s co-owner Susie Robertson said they wanted to do anything to help a fellow restaurant owner in Bowling Green.

“Any chance we can get back out and contribute to Bowling Green, we love Bowling Green, they’ve been good to us and we wanted to give back,” said Robertson.

South Cow Food Truck owner Patrick McKinney said he is planning on doing a food truck every Friday to benefit a different business impacted by the tornado.
