Floyd County shooting results in death of two officers, one K-9
ALLEN CITY, Ky. – Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that resulted in the deaths of two officers and one K-9.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Thursday, June 30 around 6:44 p.m. in Floyd County.
An investigation by KSP has determined two law enforcement officers and one K-9 have been pronounced dead after being injured from the shooting, according to KSP.
Authorities stated in a release that four other law enforcement officers have received injuries, and three of those officers remain in the hospital. One of the officers is in critical condition, two officers are in stable condition and one officer was treated and released, stated the release. Additionally, KSP stated one civilian was injured during the incident and is being treated at a hospital.
KSP CIRT responded to the scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
