Firefighters keep Three Springs house fire from becoming total loss

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) — Firefighters were able to keep a late-night house fire from becoming a total loss Sunday on Memorial Court in the Three Springs area, according to a Facebook post from the Warren County Fire Department System.
Crews were called to the home just after 10 p.m. The department said 36 firefighters responded from the Woodburn, Plano, Alvaton and Browning volunteer fire departments.
The deputy chief of the Alvaton Volunteer Fire Department arrived first and found a working house fire. As other units got there, firefighters stretched three handlines into the home and searched the inside.
Most of the fire was in the attic, according to the department. Firefighters had to pull down ceiling material to reach the attic and make sure the fire was fully out.
The department said crews saved more than 70% of the structure, along with many of the homeowners’ personal belongings and household items.
