Empty the Shelter is underway at the humane society

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society is participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Clear the Shelters event and adoption fees are reduced.

If you are looking for a furry friend for the holidays, you have a few weeks to help empty the shelters.

Adoption fees are reduced to $25, but adult cats and critters are all free.

Right now, shelters are at an all-time high for the season and shelter workers are working overtime to try to handle the animals.

The goal of the event is to find animals get adopted.

“This is our third year participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters. It started Monday the sixth and lasts until Sunday the 12th. I have heard word from our director that that may be extended if the numbers are great. So we’re really hoping to see you some good turn out and getting pets their forever home,” said Brandon Taylor, the adoption center assistant manager.

Remember, if you do adopt, animals are a lifetime commitment, and it is not always wise to purchase an animal for another person as a surprise.
