Edmonton students to hold lemonade stand fundraiser, toy drive for flood victims
EDMONTON, Ky. – Elementary school students from Metcalfe County will be selling lemonade and treats Friday, Aug. 12 to assist our neighbors in eastern Kentucky.
Torrie Osbon, director of communications for Metcalfe County Schools, stated the girls pictured above, with the help of friends, raised $300 with their first summer lemonade stand last month for the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter. Due to this success, they wanted to contribute more and decided to help flood victims.
The lemonade stand and toy drive will be located at the courthouse lawn in Edmonton from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to Osbon, profits will go toward needed gift cards, such as Walmart and Lowe’s cards, for victims. Suggested toy donations include toys, story books, stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons.
The event poster stated they know many children have lost everything, and they want to help them smile a little.
