Edmonson County rollover crash kills 1, injures 1
MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – On Wednesday morning at 9:52 am, the Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green received a call for service in reference to a single vehicle collision that had resulted in a fatality. The collision occurred near 1800 Nolin Dam Road in the Mammoth Cave community of Edmonson County. KSP personnel responded to the scene of the collision.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that Charlotte Newton (58) of Leitchfield, KY was operating the car over corrected causing her vehicle to leave the roadway. The vehicle then overturned, and ejected Newton.
Charlotte Newton was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner’s Office. A passenger in the vehicle, Charles W. McStoots (17) of Mammoth Cave, KY was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both occupants were unrestrained at the time of the collision.
The investigation continues and is currently being led by Trooper Ronnie Reynolds. He was assisted on scene by other KSP personnel, Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, Kyrock and Lincoln Fire Departments, Edmonson County Coroner’s Office, Edmonson County EMS and Edmonson County Emergency Management.

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – One person is dead following the crash on Nolin Dam Road.
As of 12 p.m. the details are limited but Kentucky State Police did confirm with that one person died in the single-vehicle roll-over wreck in Edmonson County.
One passenger was airlifted to a hospital in Louisville, Ky. and that person’s condition was not known at 12:20 p.m.
The vehicle involved was a four-door sedan.
