Today’s marijuana products often contain significantly higher THC concentrations than those available in previous decades. Research has linked the use of high-potency marijuana, particularly among adolescents and young adults, to increased risks of addiction, impaired memory and learning, mental health disorders, and psychotic episodes. Accidental ingestion by children, especially through edible products, can result in serious medical emergencies requiring hospitalization.
