Drug take back event coming Saturday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Local law enforcement agencies are working together to hold a drug take back event this weekend.
The Kentucky State Police, local law enforcement the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, and the local drug task forces are partnering together to encourage citizens to remove potentially dangerous medicines from their homes and dispose of them safely.
This will be the 19th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a campaign resulting in millions of pounds of opioids and other medicine disposed of reducing possible drug misuse and diversion to the streets.
Collection will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Kentucky State Police Post 3, Greenwood High School and the Bowling Green Police Department.
As usual, most local sheriff’s offices, police departments and state posts still have drop boxes you can use year round.
