Community Education names DeLanna Williams as executive director

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – DeLanna Williams has been appointed as executive director of Community Education of Bowling Green-Warren County.
According to Community Education, Williams most recently served as a pre-K 4 Teacher at the Early Learning Center at Broadway United Methodist Church. She previously also served as program manager for Kentucky Safe Driver and program coordinator for Right of Way and Utilities with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
In addition, Community Education says Williams is actively involved in the Bowling Green community, including serving as a middle school girls leader at Broadway United Methodist Church, serving as a race ambassador for the Family Enrichment Center’s Run and Walk for Children and supporting Jody Richards Elementary as a parent volunteer.
According to Community Education, Williams is a graduate of Marion County High School and holds a bachelor of arts in history from Eastern Kentucky University and a master of public administration from Morehead State University.
“The Community Education Board of Directors is very excited to welcome Mrs. Williams to our organization,” said Dearbone. “Her energy and passion for children and education, as well as her professional experience, are what the board believes will help to continue the strong legacy of Community Education and help to boldly take it into the future.”
Williams expressed excitement about joining the organization and building upon its longstanding impact in the community.
“I am excited to begin this new journey as Executive Director,” Williams said. “I look forward to working alongside dedicated partners, educators, and community members to further the mission of Community Education. Together, we will continue building opportunities that empower children, strengthen families, and enrich the lives of those we serve in Bowling Green-Warren County.”
As executive director, Williams will oversee Community Education’s broad range of programs and services that support children, families, lifelong learning, volunteer engagement and community connections throughout Bowling Green and Warren County. She will work alongside staff, volunteers, community partners, and supporters to strengthen existing programs while exploring new opportunities to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Community Education will host a reception to welcome Williams on Monday, June 8, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at its offices located at 1227 Westen St. Community partners, stakeholders, supporters and residents are invited to stop by, introduce themselves, and help celebrate this exciting new chapter for the organization.
