More than 300,000 dead voters removed from Kentucky polls

FRANKFORT, Ky. – More than 300,000 dead voters have been removed from Kentucky’s voter polls since Secretary of State Michael Adams took office, officials say.

On Friday, Adams made the announcement, bringing the total number of removals since January 2020 to 753,181.

“We’ve vigorously purged voters who have moved away, passed away, or been put away,” said Adams. “Kentucky is a national success story for clean elections.”

In August, officials say they removed 3,233 dead voters, 258 individuals who moved out of state, 74 duplicate registrations, 65 who were “adjudged mentally incompetent,” 18 who voluntarily de-registered, nine identified as non-U.S. citizens and seven people convicted of felonies from the Kentucky polls.

Despite this, Adams’ office says Kentucky’s voter registration continues to grow, with 8,266 new voters registered last month.
