City of BG Code Compliance receives national recognition for top-notch work
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-The City of Bowling Green Code Compliance Division is getting national recognition.
The team is the first in the state and only the sixth in the country to earn agency accreditation from the American Association of Code Enforcement.
This award, judged by an impartial party, lets our citizens know their services are top notch.
Every day, four code compliance officers are out in the field, routinely checking private property for things like maintenance, unsafe structures and vacant properties.
“Everything that we do has a focus on the safety of our citizens, the wellbeing of our city and preserving the character of who we are, but making sure everyone here has a safe place to live, work and play,” said Division Manager Brad Schargorodski.
The award didn’t happen overnight. The application for the award included years of data and a review of over 16,000 cases.
