Cave City names new chief of police

CAVE CITY, Ky.- The Cave City Police Department has officially sworn-in a new police chief.

After serving as the Interim Police Chief while Captain at the department for the past month, Darrell Butler has now been sworn in as the chief of police in Cave City.

Butler used to work for the Bowling Green Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Butler has more than three decades of experience in law enforcement.

He says he cares about the community he serves and even likes to stop and play basketball with kids in town.

“I’m a very community-oriented police officer. I like to get out and talk to the public,” Chief Butler said.

Butler replaces Chief Terrill Riley, who was fired from the department by the mayor of Cave City last May.
