Candle light vigil held to honor domestic violence victims

GLASGOW, Ky. – Barren River Area Safe Space held a candle light vigil Thursday night to honor domestic violence victims, survivors, and those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.

The vigil was held for 30 minutes at the Barren County Courthouse for October, domestic violence awareness month.

A survivor shared her story to attendees followed by the candle lighting and the reading of deceased victims of domestic violence in the state over the past year.

BRASS provides emergency shelter and support services to domestic violence victims and their children.

The organization is always accepting volunteers and donations as well as encouraging the public to raise awareness for domestic violence.
