Bowling Green teen among 2 charged in death of Nashville gas station employee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two 15-year-olds are facing a murder charge after the fatal shooting of a Nashville Kwik Sak employee.

According to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, Shawn Davis of Franklin, Kentucky and Demarcus Boyd of Bowling Green entered the gas station on 4890 Lebanon Pike Monday just after 4 p.m.

Police say one of the teens shot employee Vishal Patel.

Patel was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he died.

The 15-year-olds left the scene in a stolen Kia Sorrento owned by Davis’ relative, according to police.

Detectives found the stolen Sorrento at an Arby’s nearby on Lebanon Pike, where Davis and Boyd were taken into custody, according to police.

Both also face a charge of aggravated robbery in relation to an incident Sunday at a 7-Eleven gas station on Old Hickory Boulevard. Police say two suspects entered the store and took cash from the register at gunpoint before leaving on foot.

Nashville Metropolitan police say both teens admitted to being involved as detectives interviewed them.
