Bowling Green police accepting fall applicants
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Bowling Green Police Department is searching for a new class of men and women in blue for the fall.
Applications are available online under the police department section. Police officer and communications dispatcher I positions are now open. BGPD says it is looking forward to hiring nearly 147 officers.
Recruiters say that if you are looking to serve and get involved in your community, then these position’s may be a great fit for you.
“It’s also about going out in the community and preventing crime. Going out, being active, being visible, building good relationships and being able to respond to things,” said recruiting officer Brad Hogue.
Hogue said that having more hands and boots on the ground helps to continue growing a safer and better Bowling Green.
“Having more officers is obviously going to lower our response times, getting us to calls quicker. It’s going to free up officers to take more action on crime prevention strategies and to build solid relationships within the community,” he said.
The salaries range is from $52,031-$63,839 per year. Responsibilities like enforcing the law, performing rescue aid and operating under the city as leaders within the community are just to name a few on the job duties.
