Bowling Green Noon Lions Club asking for help locating stolen sign, table and cooler

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Noon Lions Club is asking the community for help after some equipment went missing following Monday’s Run for Sight fundraiser race.

Pam Elrod, the club administrator, says following the run, the Spirit Masters were instructed to fold up the water station equipment and set it out for someone to pick up. 

So, they did just that, but when a member drove around to pick up the water station from the 600 block of Newberry Road in the Bent Tree Subdivision, the table, cooler and feather sign were nowhere to be found. That is several hundred dollars worth of items.

The Lions Club run was raising money to fund providing glasses to local children in need, and they even have funded surgeries in the past as well. 

Now part of those proceeds will have to go toward replacing the missing items, unless someone returns them. 

“Why would somebody steal from the Lions Club when we’re trying to help our community? I’m impressed with how many people have shared my Facebook posts. It’s just, it takes from our profits. It could be one, it could be three pairs of glasses that we can’t buy for a child. And we will help any child. We get references mostly through the Family Resource Centers at the schools, and we’ll furnish their glasses. If the parents can’t afford glasses for any kid, no charge,” said Elrod.

Elrod says if someone reaches out to return them, they won’t ask any questions and will just be thankful for the item’s safe return.
