Bowling Green Fire Department lights up in tribute to fallen firefighters

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week, if you decided go for a drive when it’s dark out, swing by one of the Bowling Green Fire Department’s and check out their lights.

BGFD is taking part in a national campaign to Light the Night with red.

The campaign is through the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation that encourages fire departments and landmark buildings across the nation to put red lights on their buildings in honor of those who have served and died in the line of duty.

This is the first year that the Bowling Green Fire Department has participated in this light up tribute.

Marlee Boenig with the Bowling Green Fire Department says they purchased the lights and set them out over the weekend in order to participate.

The campaign began Sunday night and continues on until next Sunday.
