Bowling Green construction updates; soon to wrap up

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Just in time for the Bowling Green Christmas parade and Downtown Lights Up on Fountain Square Park, construction crews are moving out of downtown.

City officials said improvements to the roadways and sidewalks on 8th Avenue, State Street and College Street began back in early spring.

The improvements are a continuation of the work done previously in and around Fountain Square Park.

Officials said they hope the make-over – that includes bike lanes – attracts more people to the area.

Public Works Director Greg Meredith said they are planning on a phase three but that plan is still in the works.
